The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church is committed to sharing our faith with our children, and we do so through a variety of ministries and programs.

Sunday Children’s Ministries

We offer a variety of programs for kids ages 3 to 12. Classes are taught by capable and committed teams of volunteer teachers who make use of curriculum centered on our relationship with God and others. Kids enjoy a time of music to praise and worship God, before separating into classes. In their classes, they engage in age-appropriate activities that help them experience God’s story in fresh, fun and meaningful ways.

Children/Youth Music Programs

Music is an integral part of Salvation Army Worship and we provide an opportunity for children and youth to learn music.  Kids can learn to play a brass instrument in our Beginnings in Brass or Junior Band program, or learn to sing in our “Shout to the Lord!” Children’s Choir. Weekly rehearsals also involve music theory, giving kids a foundation and understanding of music that goes beyond just making beautiful sounds.  Learn more…

BUGS – Beautiful Unique Girls (Girls ages 8-12)

This group was created with the hope that each girl will be accepted for who she is and understands that God loves her;  is there for her and that He is able to meet her needs.

This group meets on a monthly basis for many different adventures.  It could be a games night, planting a garden, biking adventures, canoeing, spelunking, camping, snowshoeing or skating!  Who knows what our next adventure might be?

Fireflies (Girls ages 4-7)

Fireflies meet quarterly. The group is designed for girls between four and seven years of age – geared toward teaching these young girls about how special and unique each one of them is through a variety of fun activities.

HOGS – Handsome Optimistic Guys (Boys ages 4-12)

Hogs meet quarterly.   The boys enjoy a wide variety of activities – whether it be a skating or a tobogganing party or Minute to Win It games – there’s something for everyone.  These boys have an opportunity to share in community, develop friendships and learn about faith in God.
