The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church has many ministries and a large number of programs, all designed to serve our community by meeting human needs in real and relevant ways, and to provide a forum for Christian worship, teaching and fellowship.
The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church is committed to sharing our faith with our children, and we do so through a variety of ministries and programs.
Community Care Ministries exists to provide spiritual and social ministry to the needy in the name of Jesus Christ and to be a transforming influence in the community.
It consists of a group of spiritually motivated men, women and young people who engage in compassionate, caring ministry, coming alongside the vulnerable, the lonely, the sick and the aged with love and acts of mercy.
The Salvation Army Barrhaven provides a much needed service — a full day’s return transportation from Ottawa to Kingston with a drop off and pickup at each individual prison. Our Correctional Visitation Assistance Program is a provided at no cost to the participants and the co-ordinator and drivers are volunteers.
As with many of The Salvation Army’s churches across the country and around the world, The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church enjoys a wonderful and diverse Music Ministries.
Our music groups not only participate in worship on Sunday mornings, but are also actively engaged in community-based programs that lift the spirits of those in retirement homes, excite the families that line the streets during Santa Claus parades, and bring cheer to so many during the Christmas Season.
The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church’ SLAM Floor Hockey Program has been supporting youth in our community for over 18-years. SLAM is one of our community-based ministries where youth, ages 13 and up, are welcome to drop by every Friday for an evening of faced paced ball hockey.
The Salvation Army’s Ontario Camping Ministries provides Summer Camp experiences at both of its locations, Jackson’s Point and Newport.
The Salvation Army Barrhaven wants to ensure that children from our community are able to enjoy the summer camp experience, especially those who’s families may not be able to send them due to financial or logistical challenges.
It is for this reason that The Salvation Army Barrhaven provides financial and logistical support for children to attend the Blaze (age 6-10) and Newport (11-16) Adventure Camps run by The Salvation Army Ontario Camping Ministries.
Christmas Assistance Program

Partnered support opportunities for individuals, service groups and businesses are key to making this program a reality.
