On Sunday, April 24th, The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church, along with our community faith partners; community stakeholders; and municipal, provincial, and federal counterparts, are excited to finally ‘Break Ground’ on our new Barrhaven Church and Community Ministry Centre. This three-phase (18,000 sq. ft.) project will include multipurpose space, offices, a commercial kitchen, program space, a gymnasium, and a worship space. The vision to have this completed is still alive, and today, we celebrate God’s faithfulness in getting us to this place. The first phase is expected to be completed 10 months from now. If you are in the area, drop by from 2-3 p.m. at 102 Bill Leathem Drive for the dedication ceremony and some refreshments. The band will be playing and we will be hearing from some of our dignitaries who have supported us along the journey.

Thanks to Jesus Christ today for the ‘Resurrection Hope’ and the promise of His presence with us in these sacred moments.

We’re excited to grow our presence in the neighbourhood and provide new opportunities to support Barrhaven and the surrounding area. For more information, please contact us by email at ministrycentre@salvationarmybarrhaven.ca, by phone at 613-440-7555 x101 or visit our Ministry Centre (temporary location) at 2-2201 Jockvale Road, Barrhaven. Our new building will have a contemporary feel (compared to a traditional church structure) and will be a safe and open space for programs, classes, community initiatives, recreation and worship.

Phase 2: Large gymnasium and auditorium area for community recreation, meetings, and concerts

Phase 3: A worship centre

Groundbreaking ceremony and new building location: 102 Bill Leathem Drive (corner of Bill Leathem Dr. and Leiken Dr.)

We look forward to seeing you there!
