The Salvation Army Barrhaven relies heavily on volunteers to provide the programs and services our community needs. If you would like to volunteer, please contact our Ministry Centre at (613) 440-7555 and speak to someone about getting involved.

Volunteer Requirements

The Salvation Army recognizes that the church is no stranger to abuse, and understands the emotional and spiritual damage resulting from abuse. We are committed to the protection of children, youth and vulnerable persons by establishing these clear prevention strategies.

If you are interested in working with children, youth or vulnerable persons you are required to complete the necessary documents and submit a valid Police Records Check, as well as enroll and complete necessary training through our ‘ARMATUS learn to protect SYSTEM’.

To log in to the training courses, you must first enroll with Praesidium Inc. If you have any questions along the way, contact Jim McLaren at You may also contact Praesidium technical support at or 817-801-7773.

Do you have some time to pray, send a card or make a phone call? Do you have a passion for others? If so our shepherding team is looking for members who will help oversee the flock. Prison Family Ministry

We are looking for some volunteers who are willing to bring family members, in The Salvation Army Barrhaven van, of the incarcerated to the Kingston area.
