The Salvation Army Barrhaven relies heavily on volunteers to provide the programs and services our community needs. If you would like to volunteer, please contact our Ministry Centre at (613) 440-7555 and speak to someone about getting involved.
The Salvation Army recognizes that the church is no stranger to abuse, and understands the emotional and spiritual damage resulting from abuse. We are committed to the protection of children, youth and vulnerable persons by establishing these clear prevention strategies.
If you are interested in working with children, youth or vulnerable persons you are required to complete the necessary documents and submit a valid Police Records Check, as well as enroll and complete necessary training through our ‘ARMATUS learn to protect SYSTEM’.
To log in to the training courses, you must first enroll with Praesidium Inc. If you have any questions along the way, contact Jim McLaren at email@example.com. You may also contact Praesidium technical support at firstname.lastname@example.org or 817-801-7773.

Community and Special Events
The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church relies on the help of volunteers for various events throughout the year. Please check the Events Calendar for upcoming events and contact the corresponding organizer if you wish to lend a hand.
Are you interested in opening your home for a small number of friends to come one evening a week to do life with? We are looking for small group host who are willing to do such. If you are interested in becoming a host for small groups, please contact Donna van Gulik or Major Jim Mercer.
Do you have some time to pray, send a card or make a phone call? Do you have a passion for others? If so our shepherding team is looking for members who will help oversee the flock. We are looking for people to help pray, encourage and stay connected with 6-8 people. If this is something that is of interest to you, please contact Kathie Samways or Major Jim Mercer.
Prison Family Ministry
We are looking for some volunteers who are willing to bring family members, in The Salvation Army Barrhaven van, of the incarcerated to the Kingston area. This would require a trip maybe once every three months and some training is provided. If you have a Saturday free every 3-4 months and would like to help families stay connected, please contact Major Jim Mercer for further details.
