Getting connected with a local church body can sometimes be tougher than it should be. Here are a few ways to get to know or to become part of the The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church.
Sunday Morning Meet and Greet
Following our Morning Worship Services is a time of fellowship, where you can grab a coffee and something to eat while you meet and talk with others. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and be introduced to our Pastors (Majors Jim and Michelle Mercer) as well as other members of our church.
Life Groups and Bible Studies
Being part of a Small Group means you get to experience a sense of belonging to a community of believers, a sense of accountability for your spiritual journey with God and a sense of caring with those who know what you’re going through and who want to support you.
Children and Youth Ministries
The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church has a number of children and youth programs designed to keep them connected and growing in their relationship with God. These programs include Sunday Morning Children’s Ministries (Sunday School), monthly activities through our BUGS and Fireflies children’s groups and weekly music programs that The Salvation Army is widely known for.
Community Care Ministries
Our Community Care Ministries team provides an outreach service to isolated or lonely seniors in and around the Barrhaven community. Volunteer members visit over 3,400 residents of nursing and retirement homes on a regular basis, sharing God’s love through compassion.
As with most Salvation Army churches, The Salvation Army Barrhaven Church has a wonderful music program that is supported by our Songsters (Choir), traditional Brass Band and Sunday Morning Worship Team.
Our Women’s Ministries program provides a monthly opportunity for women to get together to discuss and encourage each other in their walk with Jesus Christ, while have a whole lot of fun at the same time through activities including book clubs, spa days, movie night and more.
Our Men’s Ministries program provides a monthly opportunity for men to get together to discuss and encourage each other in their walk with Jesus Christ. Unlike Women’s Ministries, we don’t hold spa days, but we definitely have fun in a number of other ways.
There are a number of areas where you can volunteer your time and energy to support the work of The Salvation Army Barrhaven.
